Christ Lutheran Church SIP Project Profile

Christ Lutheran Church - (Valparaiso, IN)

The Christ Lutheran Church was in need of a major expansion due to limited space and overcrowding. R-Control SIPs (Structural Insulated Panels) were selected for the walls and roof in the design of a new sanctuary building. R-Control SIPs provide an energy efficient envelope system, reduce air leakage, and help to control heating and cooling costs. By using R-Control SIPs instead of stick or steel framing, it’s estimated that the church will save $6,500 on energy costs in its first year. Anticipating that the cost of energy will go up 5%/yr, future savings to the church could exceed $440,000 in the next 30 years of operation. Reducing energy consumption equals reduction of pollution from heating and cooling the church, and that’s very good for the environment.

R-Control SIPs use Perform Guard® EPS cores and are FrameGuardTM Coated making them heavyweights against the destructive agents of mold, mildew, and termites. FrameGuard Coating continues to protect the R-Control SIP structure and the church’s investment.
