The Conway House was designed to meet the highest standards for energy efficiency. In addition, a great deal of thought went into selecting the chemically benign materials.
Energy Efficiency
When it came time for the designers to decide on what materials to use in construction of the outer walls they chose Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) with an expanded polystyrene (EPS) core. They found that the SIPs provided exceptional insulation value that would result in an energy efficient wall system and reduced air leakage.
